We are looking for Sr. Software Quality Engineer – AI & Automation with experience in AI Automation, Prototyping, DevOps Testing with my direct client for 6+ Months of Contract.

Job Title: Software Quality Engineer – AI & Automation

Location: Remote

Duration: 6+ Months

We are seeking a hands-on Software Quality Engineer with strong development skills and experience in building custom AI-driven quality solutions. Unlike traditional automation lead roles, this position is not about managing teams or building large automation frameworks. Instead, it focuses on designing, prototyping, and implementing innovative solutions that apply AI to improve quality engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct feasibility studies and develop proof-of-concepts for AI-driven QE solutions, including Defect Predictability, Test Impact Analysis, and Test Case Generation.
Build custom utilities, prototypes, and automation tools to address targeted quality challenges—rather than leading framework development or team-based automation strategy.
Collaborate with QE, development, and DevOps teams to integrate advanced automation into existing pipelines (DevOps pipeline knowledge required to collaborate effectively, but not to build pipelines).
Provide technical input on automation solutions in support of divestiture-related activities.
Troubleshoot and refine AI/automation experiments into practical, scalable tools.
Research emerging AI/ML technologies and evaluate their applicability to software quality.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of software quality engineering and test automation experience, with strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar.
Proven ability to design and deliver custom automation solutions (not just implement existing frameworks).
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience applying them in quality or automation contexts (e.g., predictive models, data-driven testing, NLP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for experimentation and innovation.
Experience with modern automation and testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, API testing).
DevOps pipeline knowledge — enough to work effectively with DevOps teams and ensure seamless automation integration, but not focused on building pipelines directly.
Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Background in data engineering or model training to support AI-driven solutions.
Experience supporting large-scale migration or divestiture initiatives.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $68.00 - $73.00 per hour
