The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Rails Software Engineer to play a key role in driving new feature development. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer. You’ll collaborate closely with the CTO to design and implement scalable solutions and introduce AI innovation. You will be hands-on in the codebase and help mentor other developers.

What You’ll Do

Lead technical design and development in Ruby on Rails-based web and mobile applications.
Innovate with AI to streamline and enhance Recommerce workflows and product listings.
Architect scalable, performant systems that support rapid growth.
Integrate new features with third-party systems, legacy databases, and existing infrastructure.
Help establish and champion engineering best practices for code quality, testing, and security.
Help mentor and guide other developers through collaborative development and code reviews.
Work directly with leadership to shape long-term technical strategy.
Write and refactor code that distills complex business logic into well-structured Ruby code, leveraging Rails conventions.

What We’re Looking For

At least five years of professional development experience in Ruby on Rails.
Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability, and design patterns as they pertain to development.
Experience integrating with third-party APIs and legacy systems.
Familiarity with AI/ML applications or large-scale data integrations is a plus.
Familiarity with eCommerce platform APIs (Amazon, eBay, etc.) is a plus.
Strong communicator and technical mentor who leads through collaboration.
Passion for implementing best practices paired with a practical approach to legacy systems and databases.
