The Principal Data Scientist role at Pegasys involves:

Developing and integrating machine learning, computer vision, and large-language models into our processes and applications.

Collaborating closely with software teams to ensure seamless integration of AI models into business practices.

Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical leadership, ensuring alignment and understanding.

Utilizing Python and SQL to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data.

Employing tools like Jira, GitHub, and Dataiku (for managing AI data pipelines) to manage projects and workflows.

Utilizing Docker (desired) for containerization and deployment of models.

How you'll make a difference:

Use expert-annotated data and imagery to create new machine learning and computer vision applications.

Use internally developed and third party machine learning models to improve business processes

Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to conceptualize and implement compelling AI solutions.

Ensure AI models are robust, reliable, and optimized for performance.

Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices.

Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in machine learning and computer vision.

Engage with the QA team to ensure our developed tools are reliable and error-safe.

Participate in Agile development processes, from sprint planning to stand-ups, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our practices.

Support cross-company initiatives with our parent company, Censis, leveraging unique data to create opportunities and drive innovation.

What you bring to the table:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of professional experience in data science, with a strong portfolio of successful AI projects

Applied experience with training and refining Computer Vision models

Experience with Large Language Model integrations, especially Azure OpenAI. Prior experience with implemented RAG systems a plus.

Strong expertise in Python and familiarity with SQL

Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS or Azure, is a bonus.

Proficiency with tools like Dataiku (for managing AI data pipelines) and Docker is desirable.

Expert understanding of data manipulation, analysis, and visualization techniques.

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and debugging skills.

Outstanding communication and collaboration capabilities.

Experience with version control and collaboration tools such as Git and GitHub.

Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira and methodologies such as Scrum is preferred.
