Position: Data Engineer (Azure | Ex-Microsoft Preferred)

Location: Redmond, WA (Remote – PST Time Zone)

Type: Contract / Full-Time

About the Role:

We’re seeking a hands-on Azure Data Engineer passionate about building high-performance data solutions. You’ll work with a team of ex-Microsoft engineers on projects leveraging Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Databricks, and PowerShell Automation to drive enterprise-grade analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and SQL Server.
Build and maintain PowerShell-based Azure Automation Runbooks.
Manage SQL Server backups and restores across Azure and on-prem environments.
Work with Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Parquet for large-scale data processing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable Microsoft Fabric-based analytics.
Implement data governance, security, and performance best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, SQL Server, and Databricks

✅ Proficiency in PowerShell scripting & Azure Automation

✅ Strong grasp of Spark, Scala, and distributed computing

✅ Familiarity with Delta Lake & Microsoft Fabric

✅ Ex-Microsoft experience or prior Microsoft project work preferred

✅ Excellent communication and documentation skills
