Job Title: Data Scientist - Wafer Bonding Overlay

Reports to: Director of Technology – North America

Location: Boise, Idaho

Summary:

Identifies trends, patterns, and anomalies found in data sets by performing extensive data analysis to develop insights. Performs data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Interprets results from multiple structured and unstructured data sources using programming, statistical, and analytical techniques and tools. Collaborates with teams to understand each data analysis projects' underlying purpose, focus, and objectives. Designs, develops, and implements the most valuable data-driven solutions for the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Determine which data are available and useful for the project.
Collect, categorize, and analyze data.
Create, validate, test, and update algorithms and models.
Use data visualization software to present findings.
Analyze large amounts of complex data to extract insights and drive decision-making.
Develop statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions to address business challenges.
Design experiments to test hypotheses and measure the effectiveness of solutions.
Make business recommendations based on data analysis.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally overnight, as needed, up to 30% of the time.
Other duties, as assigned.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and semiconductor manufacturing processes to improve methodologies and tools for continuous improvement.
Complies with EVG and customer cleanroom policies.
Ability to work well under minimal supervision as well as with a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
An ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers regarding current issues.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Applicant should have at least two (2) years of proven experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, preferably in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Industry experience with Overlay Analysis is beneficial and experience with fusion/hybrid bonding technologies and advanced Stepper technology is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to factory employees and engineers.
Statistical modeling and analysis, using tools such as JMP, R, Minitab, MATLAB and Origin
Fluency in scripting languages such as Python, and JSL including capability for automating analyses
Experience/familiarity working with time-series data and data visualization techniques
Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks for predictive analytics
Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL databases, scalable data pipeline development, applying data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques world be a plus, but not mandatory.
Experience in providing data driven intelligence for optimization of manufacturing processes.

Physical Demands:

While performing duties of this job, individual is regularly required to stand, sit, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Visual acuity required.
Individual is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls frequently and be able to reach with hand and arms above shoulder level occasionally.
Ability to wear proper cleanroom attire and work inside the fab/cleanroom up to 75% of the time.
