The Junior Business Data Analyst is responsible for assisting with data quality assessment, data analysis, pattern and trend identification and data visualization. This position utilizes company systems and databases to extract and analyze data to interpret trends and work with management to make effective business decisions. This position demonstrates a team-oriented approach and strives to achieve superior customer service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques.
Work with management and other Data Analysts to prioritize business and information needs and identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets based on those needs.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities, and productivity measures for the individual Business Units.
Assist with Managing and querying relational databases and monitoring for trends, errors, and inconsistencies.
Help to create data visualizations to enable management team to make informed business decisions.
Analyze data and identify opportunities to support successful reporting enhancements.
Create and present ad hoc data analysis, reports, and dashboards to inform members of management on sales metrics.
Develop predictive models that help make triaging, pricing, or other business decisions.
Help to develop dashboards and visualization on customer engagement, revenue, and promotions to measure the impacts of various business actions.
Conduct initial exploratory analytics to understand data anomalies and elevate meaningful observations for further analysis.
Provide administrative support to corporate business leaders by assisting with the creation of executive-level presentations, reports, and other business documents that incorporate data findings.
Maintain integrity and quality of data and assure data conformity meets operational requirements and goals.
Assist in planning, establishing, and monitoring criteria for data collection.
Ensure report requirements are translated, formatted, and integrated into project design and can be understood by key stakeholders.
Research Industry data to classify accurately and granularly spend into industry-specific schema.
Build data intelligence around business rules to deliver reportable and actionable information to business leaders.
Create and automate monthly and quarterly sales reports.
All other duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience, preferably in the healthcare or insurance field
Must possess advanced skills in Excel, including Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INEX/MATCH and data tables
Must be able to intuitively understand if data looks correct and use a variety of tools and techniques to accomplish data validation and visualization
Must have advanced skills in SQL, PowerPoint, Tableau, SAS and VBA
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Look for ways to improve and promote quality and monitor work to ensure quality
Must demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to demonstrate team behavior and promote a collaborative environment
Ability to follow all company policies and procedures in effect at time of hire and as they may change or be added from time to time.
