POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Software Engineer ("SSE") is an important member of a full-stack software engineering team, with the SSE's full focus and time spent on designing and implementing software applications. The candidate must be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and expertise in software development technologies and methodologies. The SSE must be able to design and implement solutions in a timely manner, with minimal supervision. The SSE will lead design sessions between the business and technology stakeholders to elicit business requirements, create design documents and enforce software development standards and methodologies, as defined by enterprise architecture and software engineering leadership. The SSE must have a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, with the ability to build cloud-native software, drive architectural decisions, and deliver scalable, secure and high-performing solutions on the Azure platform. In addition, the SSE should have hands-on experience in low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, specifically Power Apps and Power Automate, to lead the design and development of low-code applications and workflow automation across the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING

Working with enterprise architects, solution architects, infrastructure engineers and business stakeholders to identify, design, implement and deliver end-to-end software solutions to meet operational needs.
Translating complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable full-code/full-stack solutions or low-code/no-code solutions.
Implementing and improving the architecture, design and delivery of custom applications using full'code/full-stack or low-code/no-code solutions such as Power Platform.
Developing unit and integration tests using test automation and assisting in development of regression test suite for software solutions.
Performing and participating in effective code and design reviews with team members.
Collaborating with software engineers, quality assurance, test automation engineers, business analysts and project managers to complete project deliverables on schedule.
Working with vendors and contractors that are on-shore, off-shore, near-shore or a combination thereof.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Proficiency and in-depth understanding of Systems Architecture and Application Design.
Proficiency in the use and implementation of design patterns, with the ability to implement business logic in a middle tier, using design patterns and web services as necessary. Draft 2 081325
Expertise with Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, Azure SQL and other PaaS/IaaS offerings to build cloud-native applications.
Proficiency in C#, SSMS and SQL.
A proven ability to develop and implement REST APIs for back-end web services and a knowledge of designing and building Process and Experience APIs.
A proven ability to write parameterized unit tests with dependency injection and mock objects and/or implementing full integration/regression test suites.
Expert knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and at least one Agile development methodology.

• Expertise with Git source control and Git workflows. • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in building integrations with Microsoft 365, Dataverse, Dynamics 365 and external APIs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

Required: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Data Engineering.
Required: 6+ years of hands-on experience with C# and expertise in at least one Microsoft application development framework such as .NET 8.
Required: Certification with Microsoft Azure.
Required: Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
A Plus: Experience with property/casualty insurance applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands are considered to be that of a climate-controlled office environment, with minimal physical exertion.
Position is hybrid and requires the ability and the willingness to work in an IFG Companies' office at least three (3) days per week.
Position requires prolonged sitting, extensive utilization of computers and interactions with others in meetings or via phone.
Position requires the ability and the willingness to travel to meet business needs.
