Senior Ghost Job Engineer

About the role

Are you looking for a new challenge that doesn't actually exist? At Kantra, we're "hiring" for the most common position in today's market: the ghost job.

As a Senior Ghost Job Engineer, you'll contribute to the invisible backlog of roles that companies post but never intend to fill. Your key responsibilities will include:

Sitting on job boards indefinitely while candidates apply into the void.
Generating hope and then providing radio silence.
Optimizing our "thanks but no thanks" pipeline by never actually sending it.
Collaborating with Al to produce the same job post across 47 platforms simultaneously.

Requirements

5+ years of experience applying to jobs that don't exist.
Proven ability to write cover letters that are never read.
Strong skills in waiting, refreshing inboxes, and questioning reality.
Familiarity with modern web stacks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, or equivalent imaginary technologies.
Experience tailoring resumes to roles that were already filled internally.

Bonus points for

Comfort pretending to "ship features" with Postgres, Tailwind, AWS, Docker even though no such job exists.
Telepathic ability to know whether a recruiter ever looked at your application.
Familiarity with "Easy Apply" and the crushing emptiness that follows.

Compensation

Because ghost jobs don't pay, we're offering a competitive ghost salary band of $200,000-$240,000 (imaginary, of course).
