Noblis is seeking to hire a Junior Data Analyst in Reston, VA

Professionals in data analytics are responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights and support decision-making within organizations. They utilize their expertise in statistical analysis, data mining, and visualization techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and correlations in data and extract actionable insights. Typical responsibilities include collecting and cleaning data from various sources, conducting descriptive and exploratory data analysis to understand data distributions and relationships, and applying statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to analyze data and generate insights. Data analytics roles also involve developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders and facilitate data-driven decision-making. Additionally, professionals may be involved in designing and implementing data collection strategies, defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and measure business performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data analytics into business processes and applications. Their expertise in areas such as data manipulation, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools enables organizations to leverage data analytics to optimize operations, improve customer experiences, and drive business growth.

You'll solve a variety of structured problems by applying professional standards and Noblis concepts and methodologies. As an employee, you: Work on assignments of small to moderate scope that may scale to other tasks and/or teams. Apply a variety of professional methods, techniques, and concepts; adapt methods, processes, or tools to meet needs efficiently. Analyze and interpret a wide range of issues autonomously, exercise sound judgment and discretion within guidelines. Receive weekly supervision; get general instructions for routine work, more detailed for new/non-routine tasks. Interpret and recommend simple process improvement solutions. Build and maintain effective relationships across groups.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of: data science toolkits, data analytics, and statistical analysis as well as data discovery, use, and exploitation within multi-cloud environments.
Experience with standard data science languages such as Python, SQL, and R.
Experience understanding data integration and data management fundamentals and how to successfully adopt those for data science projects from development into production.
Experience with understanding customer needs and visualizing data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study.
Experience related to working with unstructured datasets.
Experience with technical writing, ability to communicate complex data in simple, actionable ways.
US Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI and Polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with having successfully demonstrated the ability to independently conduct the appropriate analysis to offer recommendations, solutions, and alternatives to resolve issues, concerns, problems, or methods.
Experience in establishing strong working relationships with program managers as well as organization leadership; tracking task order efforts to rapidly identify and resolve potential and new problems; and identifying and resolving administrative and contractual issues related to a support services contract.
Ability to solve problems in a rapidly changing environment, and interface with customers directly.
Strong understanding of intelligence disciplines, methodologies, and the intelligence cycle.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
