About the Team

The team that this role will be a part of is focused on enhancing Nutanix's licensing applications and services, with the mission of simplifying licensing processes for both internal teams and external users. This geographically distributed team includes members in various locations, including India and a recent local addition in San Jose, CA. The culture emphasizes collaboration, agility, and global teamwork, fostering an environment where diverse ideas are valued and proactive solutions are encouraged.

You will report to the Sr. Staff Engineer Hiring Manager, who is known for their supportive and proactive leadership style, focusing on empowering team members to take initiative and drive their projects forward. The work setup for this role is hybrid, requiring the new hire to be in the office two days a week, specifically on Wednesdays and Thursdays, to facilitate collaboration and maintain team cohesion.

Your Role

Design and develop reliable, scalable control plane software for enterprise and hybrid cloud environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature development and enhance the Nutanix manageability platform.
Contribute to the implementation of a cloud-scale API platform.
Maintain and improve SaaS applications, focusing on quality and customer experience.
Participate in code reviews, provide feedback to peers, and mentor junior team members.
Engage with stakeholders to align on licensing objectives and ensure project alignment with company goals.
Foster a proactive team culture by leading initiatives to simplify internal processes and enhance productivity.

What You Will Bring

6+ years of experience in software development with a strong proficiency in Python, and Golang.
Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs and cloud-scale applications.
Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, with practical experience.
Experience in developing high-performance control plane software for enterprise and hybrid cloud solutions.
Familiarity with licensing applications and related platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive proactive solutions.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Excellent collaborative skills and effective communication in a geographically distributed team environment.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 136,800 and USD $ 273,600 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
