Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

This is a career opportunity for individuals with intermediate programming experience who are excited to learn and grow in IFS Applications development, event customization, page design, and SQL and Python programming.

The ERP Developer will assist in the design, development, and maintenance of business applications while ensuring seamless integration with business processes. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders the ERP Developer will customize IFS solutions, design and develop custom web applications, and enhance system functionality. This will include debugging, problem-solving, and learning best practices for software development.

IFS Applications Development & Customization:

Learning to implement lobby design, custom fields, projections, and integrations to enhance user experience.
Assisting in developing and maintaining IFS Applications, focusing on custom events, page configurations, and process automation.
Supporting customization of IFS Cloud interfaces under the guidance of senior team members and business partners.
Assisting in analyzing and debugging IFS-related issues, including basic troubleshooting.
Supporting event triggers, workflows, and background jobs under supervision.

Database & Programming Support:

Learning to develop and optimize SQL queries and assisting Business Analysts in working with Oracle databases to support IFS Applications.
Designing and implementing custom applications that meet the needs of internal customers.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or similar discipline with two or more years of relevant experience OR high school diploma with four or more years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook email, and advanced computer skills.
Experience with Python programming or similar object-oriented programming languages.
Experience with writing scripts for applications and operating systems, debugging existing scripts, and providing first-level support to solve a range of IT issues.
Familiarity with ERP modules, data management, system implementation, and customization to meet specific business needs.
Strong knowledge of general database structures.
Ability to proactively identify business needs and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues through creative problem solving.
Strong ability to focus on internal customers' needs and drive toward business goals.
Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with internal customers and co-workers.
Ability to clearly communicate status updates to team leaders, project managers, and internal customers.
Commitment to improving work performance through expanding professional knowledge and growing work experience.

Preferred Skills, Experience and Abilities:

Two or more years of experience collaborating with end users to solve day-to-day business needs.
Two or more years of experience with SQL/PLSQL programming and SSRS (SQL Reporting Services).
Two or more years of experience with database structures such as Oracle, MS-SQL, and/or MS Access and Power BI or other data visualization platforms.
Two or more years of experience with Python, Javascript, Java, Go, or other robust programming languages.
Experience with design, development, and deployment of an application (through work or school).
Two or more years of assisting in the development and maintenance of IFS Applications such as focusing on custom events, page configurations, and/or process automation.
Basic understanding of Linux operating system and containerized applications.
Basic understanding of interacting with RESTful or Odata APIs.
Basic understanding of networking including types of networks, network devices, and protocols.
