We serve customers across multiple market verticals including Auto, Health, Home, and Life Insurance, providing significant value to consumers through an independent, third-party comparison-shopping experience.

We're seeking a mid-level Data Engineer focused on building pipelines, maintaining data quality, supporting analytics partners, and contributing to platform improvements. You’ll work with modern tools such as BigQuery, dbt, Python, and Looker to help the business scale data operations and improve visibility into revenue, performance, and user behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Pipeline Work
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP (BigQuery), dbt, and Python
Integrate data from paid media platforms, CRM systems, call routing tools, and web analytics sources
Support data ingestion workflows, including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Maintain Git-based workflows (PR reviews, CI/CD checks, environment promotion)
Data Quality & Optimization
Implement data validation checks, schema tests, and anomaly alerts in dbt
Optimize BigQuery queries for performance and cost efficiency (partitioning, clustering)
Collaborate with analytics and marketing teams to ensure accurate, consistent datasets
Analytics & Reporting Support
Build and maintain Looker LookML models under guidance from senior team members
Help instrument new datasets, dimensions, and metrics to support dashboards and reporting needs
Participate in A/B test data setup and simple attribution or funnel-based reporting
Operational Support
Contribute to Slack-based pipeline notifications, error alerts, and resolution workflows
Assist in backfills and historical data loads as needed
Follow best practices for documentation, version control, and environment management

Must-Have Technical Skills:

Hands-on expertise with:

Python
SQL (strong)
Google BigQuery
dbt (or equivalent transformation frameworks)
Git and GitHub workflows
Basic Looker/LookML exposure
GCP basics: BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Secret Manager

You should have experience shipping production data solutions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience or familiarity with any of the following:

Streaming: Apache Beam, Kafka
Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis
Orchestration: Airflow, Cloud Composer
Infrastructure: Docker
Cloud: AWS (in addition to GCP expertise)
Languages: R, NodeJS
Marketing Tech: Attribution platforms, ad platform APIs

Qualifications & Experience:

3-5 years of data engineering experience.
Prior knowledge of modern data engineering practices and cloud-native architectures.
Understanding of performance marketing metrics and attribution models.
Excellent problem-solving, system design, and analytical skills.
Strong communicator who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
Track record of delivering high-impact data solutions that drive business value.
