AI Software Engineer (Agentic Systems)

Who is Sam:
Sam connects tech-industry experienced professionals with high-growth companies that need skilled talent. Our client is hiring a full-time engineer to build and scale their agentic AI systems.

Role Overview:
This role focuses on architecting and shipping core systems across an agentic AI stack. Youll use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GPT-o3, and Cursor to accelerate development, then refine outputs into production-grade code with strong testing, observability, and safety. Youll experiment with model routing, reasoning vs. execution tradeoffs, autonomy levels, and play a key role in shaping a culture centered on quality, urgency, data-driven iteration, and trust-by-design.

Who Were Looking For:
Engineers who genuinely care about AI, LLMs, and agentic systems. Someone comfortable designing APIs, orchestrators, routing layers, and integrating LLMs into agentic workflows.

You should be hands-on across the stack, able to jump into frontend (Next.js), backend (Python, FastAPI, Node.js), DevOps, data, or integrations when needed.

You use AI coding tools daily but know how to debug, refine, and ship high-quality production systems.

You operate with a builder mindset, bias for action, and an obsession with quality, safety, and privacy.

Experience with low-latency systems, observability, guardrails, and SLOs is strongly preferred.

Schedule:
This is a full-time role with a standard engineering schedule set directly with the client.

Technical Skills:

Backend + agentic architecture using Python, FastAPI, Node.js
LLM integration using LangChain, LangSmith, LlamaIndex (RAG), MCP, Google A2A
Hybrid LLM approach: ChatGPT, Claude, Qwen, Llama 3, Deepseek
Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, React
Infrastructure: AWS, GPU providers, Terraform
Skilled with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience building low-latency, high-reliability systems with measurable SLOs
Strong testing, observability, telemetry, and guardrail implementation
Track record of shipping agentic AI systems or complex orchestration layers
Experience working in high-growth engineering environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $200,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year
