Brooksource is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Fortune 150 Utility partner. The Nuclear IT Data & Analytics team is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and energetic team at the heart of leading a rapidly transforming IT organization in one of the country's largest utilities? Qualified developers will have an opportunity to work on a number of data-driven, analytical applications that will push the boundaries of what is currently possible within Nuclear!
Responsibilities:
- Assesses complex data systems and programs in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests.
- Creates programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
- Examines data quality, applications, and functions.
- Produces output and sustains operation.
- Researches new data sources and analytical tools.
- Contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
- Develops awareness of and familiarity with issues and events affecting organization, department, and/or customer.
- Uses and supports database applications and analytical tools (skilled in SQL, Postgres, Oracle, PowerBI).
- Uses timely and appropriate participation of users/customers in data collection and query systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, or management of information systems.
- Work experience in addition to degree: 5+ years
Job-specific knowledge, skills or abilities:
- Working knowledge of statistics, programming and predictive modeling.
- Working knowledge of code writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to bridge the gap between data science and business management
- Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation
- Focus on data integrity and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experiencing designing, developing, and testing data visualization solutions, with an emphasis on dashboards
- 4+ years of experience developing Power BI reports, web service, data flows, DAX.
- Understanding of and ability to use programming languages like Python, SQL (Structured Query Language)
- Power Automate and Power App experience
- Desire to present analyses and recommendations to key stakeholders
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to relate them to the strategies, processes, products or services the company is focused on
- Data mining knowledge that spans a range of disciplines
- Strong exploratory analysis skills
- Knowledge of basic and advanced prediction models
Logistics:
- 12-month W2 Contract with potential for extension or conversion
- Location: Charlotte, NC
- Hybrid: hybrid 2x per week: 4x10 shift schedule Monday-Thursday
- Compensation: $56/hr
