As a Data Analyst, working on-site at our Dallas/Corporate office, you will support the organization’s data-driven initiatives by collecting, cleansing, and organizing data from various internal and external sources. You will contribute to building and maintaining data pipelines, assist with basic data engineering tasks, and develop dashboards that deliver operational insights across departments such as accounting, lending, deposits, and operations. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with core banking data, while learning to interpret trends, monitor performance metrics, and support compliance and reporting needs. This position is ideal for individuals looking to grow their technical and analytical skillset while contributing to business outcomes through data accuracy, visualization, and foundational engineering support.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Engineering Support:
- Collect, cleanse, and organize data from various sources, including transaction records, customer databases, market data, and third-party sources.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity through quality controls checks and daily integration monitoring.
- Develop and maintain data repositories and databases for efficient storage and retrieval of information.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining data repositories and basic data pipelines.
Analysis and Visualization:
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in banking data.
- Develop and maintain non-complex operational and financial dashboards.
- Provide ad hoc reports to various departments based on defined business needs.
- Create clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Assist Senior Data Analyst and Chief Analytics Officer with complex data sets and dashboards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and tailor insights accordingly.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Assist in identifying and assessing potential risks associated with banking activities through data analysis.
- Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to banking products, services, and processes for Data Analytics Department.
- Support compliance with internal data governance and external regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or related field.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Basic knowledge in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL, DAX, Python, R, or SAS.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure or similar cloud servicing tool.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Suite offerings.
- General understanding of banking products and services.
