Job Summary:
Reconnect Inc, a leading software company specializing in probation, parole, and re-entry solutions, is seeking a Maine-based Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a Data Engineer to manage our organization’s data infrastructure, streamline backend database operations, and deliver actionable insights through business intelligence tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with Power BI or similar analytics platforms, with the ability to lead deployment and adoption of Power BI within the organization. This role will support data migration, reporting, and integration initiatives that drive informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and minimal downtime.
- Organize and optimize database tables, schemas, and relationships for efficient performance.
- Evaluate, implement, and deploy Power BI or similar BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in Power BI or equivalent tools.
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests and deliver insights to internal stakeholders.
- Create and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting and data analysis.
- Design and implement data integrations between internal systems, third-party applications, and APIs.
- Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure consistent, clean, and accurate data flow.
- Partner with operations, product, and leadership teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document database structures, processes, and integration workflows for future reference and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Must live in or nearby to the Greater Portland area.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years in a data engineering, BI development, or similar role.
- Strong experience with SQL, relational database design, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar BI tools (Tableau, Looker) and ability to deploy a BI platform from the ground up.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and integration platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar).
- Experience with APIs, data pipelines, and automation scripting (Python preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
- Familiarity with SaaS product data integrations.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
