Primary Purpose of Position: Partners Health Management is establishing a new Enterprise Data Ecosystem to modernize and unify our data platform capabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Data Engineer with deep expertise in Snowflake development and optimization, complemented by experience in Microsoft Azure Data Services and SQL Server. This role will lead the design, build, and optimization of complex data pipelines, transformations, and models within Snowflake, while ensuring integration with Azure-based services and traditional SQL databases. This role will be instrumental in enabling data-driven decisions across the organization by developing scalable, secure, and well-governed data solutions.
Role and Responsibilities:
This position will play a key role in building a scalable and secure data ecosystem across cloud and hybrid environments. The Enterprise Data Engineer will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data assets, reusable models, and actionable insights. The engineer will also help establish enterprise-wide data practices that support analytics, reporting, and strategic operations.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

Design, build, and maintain complex, high-performance data pipelines in Snowflake.

Implement advanced Snowflake features such as tasks, streams, materialized views, and secure data sharing

Perform basic ETL/ELT operations, ensuring data integrity and quality.
-
Support integration between internal systems, provider networks, and external platforms.
-
Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
Data Modeling & Analytics Support
-
Develop and maintain scalable dimensional and data vault models in Snowflake, leveraging best practices for performance and cost optimization.
-
Create reusable data products and views in Snowflake to support enterprise analytics in Power BI and other tools.
-
Collaborate with analysts to prepare datasets for reporting and dashboarding.
-
Support documentation of data models and processes.
Data Governance & Quality
-
Apply basic data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
-
Implement Snowflake role-based access control (RBAC), masking policies, and data classification to ensure compliance.

Support security and compliance standards, including HIPAA data handling guidelines.
DevOps & Version Control
-
Use Azure DevOps to manage code and deployment scripts.
-
Implement CI/CD for Snowflake objects and pipelines using Git-based workflows.

Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for clean, maintainable code.
Collaboration & Learning

Work with senior engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Participate in training to expand skills in cloud data engineering.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Advanced proficiency in SQL, with strong Snowflake-specific syntax and optimization skills.

Proven experience with Snowflake performance tuning, query profiling, and cost management.

Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and cloud data architectures.

Familiarity with Azure Data Services, Snowflake, and Power BI is a must.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or similar role (internships included)

3+ years of hands-on experience in Snowflake development and administration.
Education/Experience Preferred:
-
Strong SQL skills with experience in both Snowflake and SQL Server.

Exposure to Databricks, or similar tools.
-
Experience with Git, DevOps practices, and data quality frameworks.

Healthcare data experience.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: N/A
