We are open to considering candidates who either reside in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area, are within a reasonable commuting distance to Tysons Corner and Alexandria, VA and/or are willing to relocate at their own expense. Candidates who reside in the DMV area will be prioritized.
This position requires being onsite at our Tysons or Alexandria office 3 days a week.

About the role:
We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data infrastructure that underpins the organization’s analytics, modelling, and machine learning initiatives.

Day-to-day, you will:
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT (Extract, Transform, Load / Extract, Load, Transform) workflows to ingest, clean, and transform data from diverse sources.
- Develop and optimize data infrastructure to support cloud and on-premises environments (i.e. AWS, Snowflake) for analytics and machine learning.
- Automate and streamline workflows using Python and SQL to improve data processes, pipeline performance, and scalabilty.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and apply validation checks to maintain data integrity.
- Prepare well-structured datasets for dashboards, forecasting, and operational insights.
- Collaborate with analytics, Information Technology, and other internal business teams to deliver reliable data solutions.
- Extract and prepare data for internal and external reporting, including performance and compliance.
- Stay current on emerging tools and support initiatives that drive business improvement through data.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including ETL/ELT pipeline development, data cleaning, and scalable architecture design.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, relational databases and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), with experience in distributed data processing.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing, modeling, and dashboard/report development using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning) workflows, including preparing data for model training and integrating models into production.
- Understanding of data APIs (Application Programming Interface) and backend/frontend data integration workflow.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver innovative, scalable data solutions in complex environments.
