Principal Data Engineer (Onsite Only, No Sponsorship Available)
This is a technical-track role (not management). You’ll be hands-on, leading with your expertise in database systems, data modeling, and performance engineering, while setting the stage for a future Data Architect career path.
This role is 100% onsite — collaboration and problem-solving happen face-to-face with our engineering and AI strategy teams.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable data platforms (ERD, relational modeling, cloud-native solutions) to power AI-driven insights and real-time reporting.
- Provide technical leadership to developers, guiding best practices on SQL Server, Azure, and database optimization.
- Own core architecture decisions: schema design, indexing, tuning, and integration patterns.
- Partner with AI and analytics leads to ensure structured and unstructured data is usable for predictive models, NLP, and executive dashboards.
- Deliver clean, documented, and queryable views that enable fast, reliable decision-making.
- Translate high-level requirements into precise technical solutions.
- Ensure all systems are secure, scalable, and future-ready.
You’re a Fit If
- Experience with startup pace with software development
- You have 5+ years of technical leadership on database-heavy projects.
- You’ve designed or scaled large data platforms in fast-paced environments.
- Deep expertise in SQL (Azure SQL, SQL Server), performance optimization, and ERD design.
- Skilled in cloud-native workflows (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, dbt, etc.), with Python for automation.
- You thrive on the technical track — solving hard problems, designing systems, and shaping standards.
- You want to grow into a Data Architect role in the near future.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in startups, software development , logistics, or operational reporting.
- Familiarity with AI/ML data enablement (RAG pipelines, feature engineering, unstructured data prep).
- Work on platforms that supported executive dashboards or predictive models.
- Exposure to hybrid structured + unstructured data ecosystems.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cosmos DB.
- Designing for high-volume, real-time, or streaming workloads (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs).
- Setting standards for data quality, governance, and security.
- Applying DevOps practices to data: CI/CD, automated validation, monitoring, and observability.
- Experience with data lakes or lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Synapse, or similar).
If you want to stay on the technical track, build systems that last, and shape the foundation of our data architecture, this is your spot.
This position is 100% onsite. No hybrid. No remote.
No sponsorship will be provided today or in the future.
