Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified, creative, and driven specialist to help Center Street Technologies utilize automation, simulation, robotic integration and other technically intensive methodologies to realize competitive advantages in 3D printing of large complex components. As such, we are willing to consider creative employment arrangements if required to acquire the talent needed.
This is an Electrical Engineering Level 1 or Level 2 position, depending on the experience level of the candidate. The Electrical Engineer will work under close supervision initially and will be expected to rapidly assimilate and perform job duties highly effectively with greater autonomy and independence. Mechanical mechanisms are a significant part of our advanced manufacturing systems, and the Electrical Engineer will need to work closely with Mechanical Engineers to understand and control these mechanisms.
The Electrical Engineer will be expected to be proficient in the design, development, installation, startup, troubleshooting, and documentation of complete control systems and programs for advanced manufacturing equipment in the additive manufacturing industry. These control systems may incorporate programable logic controllers (PLC), numerical controllers (NC), PCs, servo drives, robots, thermal imaging cameras, and other more specialized controllers. The Electrical Engineer will need to have or develop good organizational skills as well as self-discipline. Job Responsibilities:
· Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control
· Design and develop new machine controls including robotic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and vision systems
· Coordinate with engineering and maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and vision systems
· Create, maintain and keep current all hard copies and electronic data bases: all electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics; panel layouts; PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs; machine power distribution and all related vendor controls component part documentation
· Schedule and complete back ups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs on set schedule
· Implement and maintain data collection system from shop floor processing equipment
· Learn, internalize, and apply best practices and design standards to control system software designs
· Create, monitor, and modify logic for program design, simulation and testing, start-up, operation and troubleshooting
· Networking with CC-Link & SSCNET III
· Motion control with servo motor & robot
· Integrate and implement various systems such as: Bar Code & RFID Reading, Robot, Vision, Weigh Scale, Gas Sampling, etc.
· Maintain and expand existing plant floor machine control to Ethernet gateways, links and connections
· Maintain all sub machine control data highways
· Write reports and presentations.
· Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
- Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
- Keen listener; exceptional communication skills and willingness to continually improve communication and influencing skills in more-distributed work environments
- Highly-motivated, self-starting, and passionate with innate drive to succeed

- Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A working knowledge of PCs and PC based applications, especially Microsoft Office, is essential.
- Coding experience in MATLAB, python, C/C++, SCADE, VBA, etc.
Desired (+) qualifications:
- Two plus years of experience in systems/controls development and integration of factory automation equipment; thorough understanding of PLCs, robotics, control systems and machine operation is preferred through an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar experience.
- Experience with Siemens products is a strong +
- Experience with platforms such as Allen Bradley PLCs, PanelView, Fieldbus networks (including Ethernet/IP)
