Position Overview:
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support critical audit and governance functions by developing scalable, secure, and compliant data solutions. This role will be central to transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive regulatory and operational decisions. The ideal candidate will build intuitive, low-maintenance tools to empower non-technical users across the Prior Authorization (PA) experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Cleaning:
- Aggregate data from multiple sources and apply preprocessing steps to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA):
- Identify patterns and relationships using statistical techniques and visualizations to inform feature engineering and business decisions.
- Model Development:
- Design and implement predictive models using machine learning and AI techniques to support operational efficiencies and decision-making.
- Interpretation & Communication:
- Translate complex data outputs into actionable business insights. Develop clear reports, dashboards, and visualizations for stakeholders.
- Model Deployment & Monitoring:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production and monitor their performance over time, ensuring ongoing value.
- Tool Development:
- Build low-maintenance, user-friendly tools and dashboards to support self-service analytics for non-technical users.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all data processes and models adhere to healthcare compliance standards, including CMS, NCQA, and HIPAA guidelines.
Team Environment:
The selected candidate will be part of a 15-person team focused on data analytics, AI solutions, and governance across healthcare-related systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in a Data Scientist or similar role
- Proficiency in:
- Programming Languages: Python, R, SQL
- Statistical Analysis & Mathematics
- Machine Learning & AI techniques
- Data Visualization: Power BI, Tableau, or libraries like Matplotlib and Seaborn
- Familiarity with Big Data Tools such as Spark and Hadoop
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Python and SQL for analytics, automation, and ETL
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and pipeline orchestration (especially cloud-native technologies)
- Proficiency in dashboarding using Power BI, Streamlit, or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of healthcare data (claims, PA, appeals, pharmacy) and regulatory contexts (CMS, NCQA, URAC, ERISA)
- Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance best practices
- Experience with version control and CI/CD for analytics projects
