Job Summary
Concord Professional Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as an FOIA Analyst supporting the National Park Service. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various operations through comprehensive intelligence analysis and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor FOIAXpress, agency mail, faxes, and email accounts for new FOIA requests and input into FOIAXpress.
- Analyze requests for procedural deficiencies (fees, scope, compliance) and draft acknowledgment letters.
- Assign requests to regional and park FOIA points of contact (POCs) and update requester/subject fields for public visibility.
- Coordinate searches for responsive records, task custodians, and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide guidance and training to records custodians.
- Gather, organize, and convert documents to PDF; review for responsiveness and determine applicable FOIA/PA exemptions.
- Redact protected information, annotate records, and prepare agency responses.
- Collaborate with NPS components, attorneys, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and clarify facts.
- Conduct legal research and stay current on relevant statutes, regulations, and guidance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive electronic case files and reconcile FOIAXpress data.
- Prepare weekly FOIA reports, monthly audit reports, Vaughn indices, and custom reports.
- Perform administrative duties including filing, phone/email management, correspondence, and data entry.
Technical Skills and Certifications:
- Three or more years of experience in analytical and administrative support services, including advanced skill in processing records for release under the FOIA, and an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- FOIA Analysts must be highly experienced in using the Microsoft Office Suite (to include Outlook, Word, and Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and electronic FOIA processing and e-discovery tools. FOIA Analysts shall possess an excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing to effectively assist, interpret, track, and document casework.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $38.00 - $43.09 per hour
Expected hours: 39 – 41 per week
