Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite Greater Orlando, Florida Area
Type: Permanent or Contract to hire
The team at Edge Staffing are partnering with a growing organization in the Greater Orlando Area that is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly support critical business decisions, while collaborating with both technical and business teams.
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and easily accessible. This role blends hands-on technical work with collaboration across departments, making it a key contributor to the company’s data strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Collect, organize, and store raw data from databases, APIs, and files.
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support business and analytics needs.
- Evaluate and improve existing data pipelines and architectures.
- Build and maintain CI/CD frameworks, testing suites, and code repositories.
- Support containerized and orchestrated environments, including Kubernetes clusters.
- Develop and maintain APIs and endpoints for analysts and systems.
- Collaborate with business, development, and analytics teams to define requirements.
- Contribute to data governance best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in peer code reviews and Agile processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong programming skills in Python or Scala.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with a variety of data sources (relational, non-relational, APIs, etc.).
- Experience with Data Build Tools (DBT)
- Experience with Dagster or similar orchestration tooling (Airflow, Prefect)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Dagster).
- Experience with CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and Agile development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and take initiative.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3–5 years of related experience.
