Manager, Data Engineering & Data Science – Security Data Lake

💰 $100,900 – $186,800 base salary + incentives + full benefits

About the Role

We are looking for a Manager of Data Engineering & Data Science to lead the buildout and optimization of our Security Data Lake. In this role, you’ll design and maintain high-performance pipelines, oversee data strategy, and apply advanced analytics to strengthen Centene’s security infrastructure. You’ll have the opportunity to combine technical leadership with hands-on problem solving, ensuring data quality, compliance, and operational excellence across the enterprise.

What You’ll Do

Design and implement robust pipelines for secure, scalable data ingestion.
Oversee data storage, schema optimization, and governance to ensure integrity.
Lead ETL/ELT processes—cleansing, transforming, and enriching raw data for analytics.
Build predictive models and apply machine learning for risk detection and prevention.
Deliver data visualization tools and dashboards that translate insights into action.
Review code, mentor junior developers, and enforce best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business needs.
Automate recurring tasks and streamline analytics workflows.
Provide operational support, troubleshoot technical issues, and participate in on-call rotations.
Stay ahead of emerging trends in big data, AI, and security technologies.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
5–7 years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related fields.
Expertise with Databricks, SQL, Python, Spark, Hadoop, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong knowledge of data pipelines, warehouses, and governance frameworks.
Experience in machine learning model development and deployment.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
Preferred certifications: Security+ or CISSP, Databricks, AWS Big Data, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
