Build the backbone. Power the business. Transform data into decisions.
National Business Institute (NBI) is a nationwide leader in continuing legal education. For more than 35 years, we’ve delivered thousands of programs — from live seminars to on-demand courses and webinars. Every day, professionals count on NBI to stay sharp, stay compliant, and stay ahead in their practice.
Why This Role Matters
We’re looking for a Data & Software Engineer to join our team and shape the infrastructure behind not only our Customer Data Platform (CDP), but also our Data Warehouse and every other business-critical data system. This isn’t about babysitting databases — it’s about building clean, reliable, and actionable data that drives marketing, sales, operations, and strategic decision-making across the entire company.
Our campaigns, insights, and revenue tomorrow depend on the pipelines, queries, and logic you design today. You’ll own the SQL backbone and transformation workflows that unify customer, marketing, and business data into one clear, trusted source of truth.
This isn’t maintenance work. It’s transformation work. It’s a role for someone who thrives on creating order from chaos, solving tough problems, and making data work for the business.
What You’ll Do
This role is more than moving data. It’s about transforming the way the business operates:
· Make smarter marketing possible. You’ll give our teams the precision to target the right attorney, with the right program, at the right time — turning campaigns into revenue drivers.
· Unify the customer story. By connecting fragmented systems into a single source of truth, you’ll ensure leadership sees one clear picture of our business and customer base.
· Fuel decision-making. The pipelines and frameworks you design will power the dashboards and reports that executives use to make million-dollar calls with confidence.
· Modernize how we run. By bridging our CDP, data warehouse, and legacy systems, you’ll move us from patchwork processes to scalable, future-proof infrastructure.
· Protect trust. You’ll ensure people across the business know the data is reliable — because you’ve built the guardrails, hygiene, and integrity into it.
· Turn chaos into clarity. You’ll transform messy, fragmented inputs into clean, structured outputs that make campaigns sharper and reporting stronger.
· Keep our data backbone strong. From SQL queries to pipelines, you’ll design and optimize the workflows that keep data accurate, fresh, and ready for use.
· Resolve identity at scale. You’ll make deduplication and identity resolution second nature, keeping customer and business records consistent across every platform.
· Bridge business and tech. You’ll collaborate with marketers, analysts, and operations teams — translating requirements into solutions that actually deliver results.
· Stay ahead of the curve. You’ll monitor, troubleshoot, and improve workflows across cloud and legacy systems, fixing issues before they impact the business.
What Makes You Right for This Role
· The Architect. You think beyond the query in front of you, designing ecosystems where today’s work lays the foundation for tomorrow’s growth.
· The Critical Thinker. You cut through clutter, see both detail and big picture, and know how to connect data to real business outcomes.
· The Relentless Cleaner. Duplicate records and mismatched fields drive you crazy — and that’s a good thing. You’re the one who turns chaos into clarity.
· The Connector. You speak “business” and “tech” with equal fluency, translating vague requests into structured solutions that actually deliver.
· The Results Driver. You measure success not in queries written but in outcomes — cleaner pipelines, reliable outputs, and tangible business impact.
· The Backbone. You care deeply about accuracy and aren’t afraid to flag issues others miss — even when it means pushing back on senior voices.
· The Calm Firefighter. When systems fail, you don’t panic. You troubleshoot, adapt, and quietly become the reason things keep running.
This Is Where Things Change
This isn’t a job for someone who wants to code in a silo. It’s for someone who wants to leave a mark — on the systems, the workflows, and the way an organization uses data to grow. You’ll be trusted with real ownership, and your fingerprints will be all over the infrastructure that powers the next stage of NBI.
If you’re ready to build the foundation that makes marketing smarter, reporting clearer, operations smoother, and growth unstoppable.
If that’s you — apply today and make your mark.
