Corrections Data/Quantitative Analyst
Location: Hybrid in Helena, MT
Salary: $85-130k
Sabot Consulting is seeking a Corrections Data/Quantitative Analyst that will provide critical analytical support for a statewide staffing analysis initiative led by the Department of Corrections. This role transforms complex staffing, scheduling, and overtime data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. The analyst will calculate workload metrics, identify operational inefficiencies, and collaborate with DOC personnel to ensure recommendations are data-driven, cost-effective, and aligned with correctional best practices and national standards.
Key Responsibilities:-
Collect, validate, and analyze staffing-related data including shift schedules, overtime records, mandatory training hours, attrition rates, and vacancies.

Perform Net Annual Work Hours and Shift Relief Factor calculations to ensure accurate post coverage.

Develop cost-benefit models to assess the financial impact of staffing recommendations, with a focus on reducing overtime.

Partner with Operations Analysts to integrate quantitative findings into Post Staffing Plans and Tiered Staffing Models.

Identify trends and inefficiencies contributing to overtime usage or staffing shortages.

Create dashboards, charts, and written summaries for inclusion in reports and presentations to DOC leadership.
Must Have:-
Proven experience in data collection and analysis within workforce or staffing studies.

Ability to perform workload calculations using correctional staffing methodologies.

Familiarity with ACA, NIC standards and correctional best practices.

Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses and modeling overtime impacts.

Proficiency with data tools such as Excel, Access, or statistical software to manage and analyze large datasets.

Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Operations Analysts and Policy Specialists.

Experience supporting staffing analyses in corrections, justice, or public safety environments.
