Miller Johnson is seeking a mid-level Financial Business Intelligence Analyst (3–5 years) to deliver actionable insights Business Intelligence tools, specifically Iridium BI, which the firm has deployed, supported by SQL and Excel. This role is housed in IT and will primarily serve the needs of firm leadership in designing dashboards, automating reporting, and translating financial and operational data into clear, decision-ready outputs. The primary focus is on business intelligence and reporting, with light system ownership of Iridium BI and SurePoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Iridium BI dashboards and reports aligned to law firm financial and operational metrics.
- Deliver reporting and insights on pre-identified business needs, priorities, and trends defined by Finance and firm leadership.
- Collaborate with Finance, IT, and firm leaders on how to analyze or present data related to identified business priorities. Take ownership of building and delivering the solution with minimal direction, while seeking input when needed.
- Create recurring reporting packages for leadership, practice groups, and operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Use SQL and Excel to extract, validate, and reconcile data between SurePoint/LMS and Iridium BI.
- Troubleshoot and optimize BI reports and pipelines for accuracy and performance.
- Manage recurring deliverables independently, prioritizing based on urgency and deadlines.
- Balance recurring production work with ad hoc analysis and problem solving.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in BI/reporting, with demonstrated expertise in Power BI (including DAX, modeling) and/or Iridium BI.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and validation.
- Experience in professional services or law strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel for financial/operational analysis.
- Ability to translate defined business priorities into actionable reporting or visualizations, collaborating with stakeholders on approach but independently executing solutions.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, Analytics, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
Preferred Certifications & Skills
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (preferred).
- Knowledge of professional services financial metrics (billable hours, WIP, realization, AR, collections, profitability).
