Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in DBT and hands-on experience in the Financial Services / Wealth Management domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and models to support portfolio analytics, risk reporting, and client insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines leveraging DBT for data transformations, testing, and documentation.
- Build and optimize data models for wealth management, investment, and financial analytics.
- Develop and maintain scalable cloud-native data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks).
- Partner with portfolio managers, risk analysts, and compliance teams to deliver data-driven insights.
- Ensure data governance, lineage, and quality checks across all ingestion and transformation processes.
- Integrate data from trading, client onboarding, CRM, and regulatory systems into centralized platforms.
- Support real-time and batch data pipelines for reporting, dashboards, and predictive analytics.
- Collaborate with BI teams to enable reporting in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Apply financial domain knowledge to map data from multiple sources (trading, accounts, positions, transactions).
- Ensure compliance with FINRA, SEC, SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with strong focus on DBT.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and DBT Core/Cloud for transformations and automation.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks).
- Strong knowledge of data modeling (star/snowflake), dimensional design, and performance tuning.
- Experience in the Financial Services / Wealth Management domain – portfolio, transactions, positions, accounts, and risk data.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Glue, ADF, Airflow, Fivetran, Informatica).
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business and technology teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Snowflake, DBT, AWS, or Databricks.
- Experience in real-time streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink).
- Exposure to Wealth Management reporting tools and CRM/Client 360 platforms.
- Knowledge of GenAI/LLM-based analytics for financial data (nice to have).
