Seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support our federal client on-site in Norfolk, VA. This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking professional with a strong foundation in computer networking, data mining, cybersecurity, and cloud computing to directly impact logistics operations that support critical federal missions. In this role, you'll leverage advanced data analysis to uncover actionable insights, optimize logistics workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. You'll serve as a key liaison—translating complex technical data into clear, strategic guidance for both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers. One must already hold an active Secret clearance.
Essential Functions
- Analyzing functional specifications to determine information and process flows.
- Developing process logic and evaluating performance measures in support of complex implementation efforts.
- Conducting queries and developing algorithms to analyze data structures.
- Generating queries and reports to provide actionable recommendations.
- Interpreting and incorporating data from multiple tool sources.
- Manipulating and cleaning large, disparate datasets for bulk analysis to identify connections.
- Presenting technical information confidently and clearly through verbal, written, and visual means.
- Collecting metrics and trending data to develop strategic insights from large data sets.
- Identifying hidden patterns or relationships in data.
- Utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., Flare, HighCharts, AmCharts, D3.js, Processing, Google Visualization API, Tableau, Raphael.js).
- Using Hadoop, Java, Python, SQL, Hive, and PIG to explore data.
- Reading, interpreting, writing, modifying, and executing scripts, macros, and functions.
- Applying basic descriptive statistics and techniques (e.g., normality, model distribution, scatter plots).
- Using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, STATA, SAS, SPSS).
- Utilizing different programming languages to write code, open files, read files, and write output to different files.
- Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client.
- Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support.
Required Education & Training
- CompTIA Data+ OR Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) certification
- Active Secret Clearance
Minimum Experience & Skills Required
- Four or more years of directly related work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A highly motivated self-starter
- Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
