General Purpose:
The Software Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of game features, systems, and tools under the direction of senior engineering staff. This entry-level role contributes to creating high-quality, efficient, and scalable code for gameplay, UI, tools, and backend systems. The Software Engineer collaborates closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to bring creative concepts to life and ensure seamless player experiences across platforms.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Implement game features and systems based on design specifications and technical requirements.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using industry-standard practices.
- Debug, test, and optimize code to improve performance, stability, and user experience.
- Collaborate with team members across disciplines (design, art, QA, production) to integrate new features and resolve issues.
- Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and maintain code quality.
- Assist in maintaining development tools, pipelines, and version control systems.
- Support the integration of third-party SDKs, APIs, and libraries.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and development methodologies in gaming.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of professional or internship experience in software or game development OR 4+ years of professional or internship experience in software or game development.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, debugging, and optimization techniques.
- Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team and communicate effectively.
- Passion for gaming and interactive experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success. Shipped titles, experience with the full lifecycle of product development, launch and LIVE support.
- Multiplayer network gameplay development experience.
- Experience with gameplay scripting, AI systems, UI frameworks, or multiplayer networking.
- Exposure to agile/scrum development methodologies.
- Familiarity with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
- Personal or academic game projects demonstrating applied programming skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work within collaborative pipelines under senior engineering guidance.

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $120,000 to $130,000 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At the L.A.
