The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer to lead hardware and firmware development for an exciting, confidential project in our skincare product line. You’ll collaborate with a software engineer to integrate advanced connectivity features, creating a cutting-edge user experience. This role offers the chance to shape a groundbreaking product while working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and modify hardware (PCB, power systems) for a compact, battery-powered device.
- Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ to enable wireless communication and control device functions.
- Build and test prototypes, ensuring reliability, power efficiency, and performance.
- Collaborate with a software engineer to integrate hardware with a mobile application.
- Support regulatory compliance for wireless components (e.g., FCC/CE).
- Prepare designs and documentation for manufacturing scale-up.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-8+ years in embedded systems, IoT, or wearable device development.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in PCB design using KiCad or Eagle.
- Proficient in C/C++ for firmware, with experience in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) stacks (e.g., Nordic SDK, Arduino BLE, or Zephyr RTOS).
- Strong knowledge of low-power design and battery management.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, soldering, and testing tools (multimeter, wireless sniffer).
- Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with FCC/CE compliance for wireless devices.
- Experience with compact or wearable electronics.
- Basic understanding of mobile app integration for IoT systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities to manage hardware and firmware tasks.
- Excellent communication for collaboration with a software engineer and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines (4-6 month project timeline).
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with flexible PCBs or space-constrained designs.
- Knowledge of consumer electronics or medical device regulations (e.g., FDA).
- Familiarity with contract manufacturing processes.
