We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineerto join our team.
Reporting to the VP, Data Architecture, this role collaborates with IT support teams to ensure that Fay’s technical architecture remains compliant with internal guidelines and environmental constraints. This position plays a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions within Azure cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on scalability, efficiency, and governance.
With deep expertise as an SQL developer, particularly within Azure Managed Instances and Data Pipelines, this role contributes to the broader cloud architecture strategy. Responsibilities include managing data ingestion, ensuring scalability, defining and implementing changes to the data model, applying quality controls, and building robust processes to support reporting and analytics needs.
A solid understanding of Database administration duties such as Software installation and Maintenance, Database Backup and Recovery, Security and Authentication, Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Data Governance, and Resource Allocation, Database Tuning, Production and Development Environment Support, Data Extraction, Loading, Transformation, and modeling are required to support the data needs of the company.
In addition to technical execution, the role provides ongoing support for Fay’s database systems, ensuring alignment with data governance standards. This position collaborates with development teams, technology groups, consultants, and various stakeholders to manage shifting priorities and deliver reliable data solutions.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate - preferred
- 8+ years SQL development (SSIS, MS-SQL/T-SQL)
- 7+ years of industry experience in technical design and development of ELT/ETL processes
- 5+ years Azure experience (SQL MI, Data Factory, DevOps)
- 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and supporting database systems and automated pipelines
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SSIS 2014 or higher
- Medallion Architecture expertise
- Azure Functions and .NET architecture knowledge
- Experience with Azure CLI scripting
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL Server programming
- Understanding of Power BI and data visualizations (preferred)
- Strong skills and experience in Microsoft 365 suite

Compensation
- The hiring range for this position is $150,000.00 anually
- This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
