As a QA Automation Engineer (Hadoop / Big Data) (Plano), you will be an integral part of the Quality Assurance department supporting innovative data solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (Hadoop / Big Data) (Plano)
Location: Plano, TX
What's the Job?
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts to ensure the quality of Hadoop and Big Data components.
- Perform comprehensive manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects efficiently.
- Create and maintain detailed test data for diverse testing scenarios, both positive and negative.
- Utilize Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Octane to manage testing lifecycle and deliverables.
What's Needed?
- Extensive experience with Hadoop components like Hive, Pig, and Scoop Hive.
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries and understanding PL/SQL code.
- Hands-on experience with Autosys and Shell Scripting.
- Strong knowledge of Agile practices and tools such as Jira and Test Management tools like Octane.
- Automation experience with Selenium Cucumber, Playwright, or UFT is preferred.
