Staff Data Scientist; Direct Hire

$180–190K + Bonus + Equity

Onsite/Hybrid in Portland, OR (PST preferred)

Make a real impact with your engineering and data science expertise. Our client is building the future of data-driven marketing through an innovative Data Platform, helping brands connect with consumers while protecting privacy. We are searching for a Staff Data Scientist to lead the development of scalable, AI-powered fraud detection systems. You’ll collaborate with a high-performing team, mentor peers, and shape the technical direction of the data platform.

What You’ll Do

Design and deploy advanced machine learning models to detect and prevent fraud
Champion technical excellence and explore emerging AI and graph analysis techniques
Mentor engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of growth and innovation
Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to influence architectural decisions
Own the full data science lifecycle—from design to deployment and monitoring
Translate complex business needs into robust, production-ready AI solutions

What You Bring

10+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on fraud analytics and large-scale data
Proven track record of deploying scalable ML models in production
Strong proficiency in Python, R, or Scala and relevant ML libraries
Deep understanding of statistical methods, data mining, and debugging
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred: experience with AWS, Kubernetes, NoSQL, and graph-based fraud detection
