Data Analyst I
**Overview**
The Data Analyst I will support higher level Data Analysts in the design, development, enhancement and utilization of data analytics and business intelligence information, while learning the District's processes and systems. Assist with process improvement as assigned to enable the District to build and sustain a 'best in industry' data-driven decision-making environment, supporting a culture of continuous learning and continuous process improvement.
**Responsibilities**
- Data Analytics - Support the design, development, and use of data analytics and tools to meet customer and business needs. Analyze data, formulate and communicate insights. Perform entry level analysis of large and diverse datasets, such as metering data, hydro operational data, etc. Programmatically evaluate noisy data and develop automated analytics processes. Explore data sources, processes, uses and definition. Clean, process and translate data into model designs that are tested, refined, moved to production, and maintained.
- Business Intelligence - Support the design, development and use of new and existing business intelligence processes and reporting tools. Conduct quality assurance checks. Create recurring reports. Assist in the development of reporting dashboards. Participate in the support of business intelligence tools, data environment, performance reporting metrics, and financial data cubes. Assist senior analysts in testing, monitoring, validating and publishing business intelligence content.
- Reporting, Communications and Collaboration - Perform basic ad-hoc requests, including data analytics, reporting needs, and process improvements and automations. Provide entry level data analytics insights and actively participate on Data Analytics and Business Intelligence core team. Collaboratively work and communicate with members of cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
- Project Teams - Participates on project teams performing individual assignments.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance: Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Comply with District policies. Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
