Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Data Engineer to support KMS and our government at Fort Greg Adams, VA. This is a Remote opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure on the Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure cloud services with a focus on data engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
Build and optimize data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics.
Implement ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources into our data platform.
Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation.
Optimize query performance and data storage solutions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Maintain security and compliance standards across all data platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues and performance bottlenecks.
Stay current with Azure platform updates and emerging data engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
Minimum 5 years of experience building data pipelines with Azure Data Factory.
Minimum 5 years of experience working with Azure Synapse Analytics.
Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
Experience with data modeling and dimensional design principles.
Knowledge of data integration patterns and ETL/ELT best practices.
Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Azure certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.).
Experience with other Azure services (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Event Hubs, etc.).
Proficiency in Python or another programming language for data engineering.
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Knowledge of big data technologies and distributed computing concepts.
Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
