Senior Business Analyst – Information Technology – Downtown Columbus, Ohio
The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our IT Applications team. In this position you would be essential to the organization, helping to ensure that the vision and functionality of technology changes are properly captured and implemented. You would be the business liaison between our Development team and our end users, facilitating and capturing feedback through the entire application development lifecycle.
What you’ll do
You would be joining a group of professionals who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and application design best practices. Using your expertise and ability to translate business user needs into technical terms, you would elicit and define system and user requirements through observation, interviews, and analysis. You'll be part of a dedicated, cross-functional agile team, working with the business and stakeholders to refine backlog and prioritize user stories, as well as driving understanding of system, data, and process requirements.

What you’ll bring
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science or other related field

At least four years of experience in the following areas: requirements gathering, analysis, and design

Five or more years of experience with SQL and Excel build-on formulas and functions in data extracting, analysis, processing, and manipulation

At least 4 years of experience in process optimization, project management and working cross-functionally with technical and business teams

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio

Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle and related technologies

The ability to deep dive into technical concepts and a love of collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams
