Job Summary:The Data Scientist supports a global merchandise operations environment, delivering advanced analytics, modeling, and machine learning solutions that enhance product placement, pricing, inventory optimization, and strategic decision-making. This role partners with engineering, product, and merchandising teams to provide actionable insights that improve business performance and help modernize enterprise retail systems.Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and statistical algorithms.
Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to derive meaningful insights.
Build and run automated and ad-hoc reports to support strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and merchandising teams to identify data opportunities and fulfill ad-hoc requests.
Create and maintain data pipelines and scalable analytical workflows.
Communicate complex technical results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Conduct Time-Series, Sequential testing, and experimental designs to evaluate business and IT initiatives.
Provide guidance on technical approaches and best practices.

Required Experience:

5-10 years of experience in data analytics or a related field.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, Unix Shell Scripting (Lunex), and Stored Procedures.
Experience with ML frameworks and libraries (Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, Matplotlib, Plotly).
ETL tool experience (Talend, DataStage, or MoveIT Automation preferred).
Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake or Oracle).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for influencing across the organization.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
Prior use of advanced modeling techniques in real business applications.
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Control-M).
Tableau or Power BI.
A/B testing and experimental design expertise.
Time-series modeling or recommendation systems.
Experience in data ingestion, transformation, and integration workflows.

Required Skills:

Python and SQL proficiency
Machine learning model development
ETL and data pipeline development

Preferred Skills:

Data visualization (Tableau, Power BI)
CI/CD automation workflows
Time-series and A/B testing methodologies
Cloud-based EDW experience (Snowflake, Oracle)

Additional Skills:

Unix Shell Scripting (Lunex Shell)
Communication with cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to support both ad-hoc and strategic initiatives
Strong organizational and analytical mindset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
