We are looking for a data analyst to assist our client for 3 months with the possibility of extension. To begin the project, hours will be 30/week onsite in Houston, TX.The main function of the data analyst is to assess and analyze project risk management as well as asset health and operations risk. This role will be supporting the Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance Risk Management offices with upcoming projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system
- Develop local database and integrate with various internal applications and external sources to query, store, and process data
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 2-4 years applicable experience required
- Experience with database technologies
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language including Python and related packages (e.g.NumPy, etc)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated history of success
- Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions
- Basic knowledge of statistics and Monte Carlo simulation techniques
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Houston, TX
Nice to have:
- Experience working in utilities, electric, and/or natural gas preferred
- Familiarity with AI in a professional setting
- Experience with, At Risk software (highly preferred), MS Projects/MS Dynamics (highly preferred), Snowflake, SAP, Tableau, and Power BI
