Supply Chain Innovation (SCI) Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) is seeking an experienced candidate to identify, create, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs that lead to improvements in our warehousing and distribution network.
This position will lead the development and execution of new logistics initiatives designed to improve overall efficiency and meet the ever-growing demand for storage of bulk inventory in our strategically located distribution centers.
Key job responsibilities
- Retrieving and analyzing data using Excel, SQL, Access and other data management systems
- Writing high quality SQL codes to retrieve and analyze data
- Monitoring existent metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
- Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
- Manage complex calendars and scheduling with diplomacy and discretion, manage domestic travel, expense report coordination and submission, and organize, execute, and assist with team activities
- Drive small to medium operational enhancement projects
- Excellent problem-solving, task prioritization, follow-up, and customer service skills
**This role may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays**
About the team
Supply Chain Innovation (SCI) identify, evaluate, and lead Inbound Supply Chain initiatives, and scale them to improve end to end cost, speed, and network resiliency. For initiatives with high impact and broad scope with no clear line of ownership, we provide leadership to develop, trial, and scale solutions to full network implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, Operations, Finance, or related field
- Experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role
- Experience with Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Power BI, or other data visualizations software
- Experience with Excel, Access, SQL, Perl, R, Python or other scripting languages
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
- 1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience
- Master's degree
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field
- 3+ years of experience using scripting languages such as Python and R
- Experience in modeling and analyzing complex logistics networks
- Advanced SQL skills
- Experience communicating across all levels of management, peers, and clients
- The successful candidate will have strong data mining and modeling skills and is comfortable facilitating ideas and working from concept through to execution.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $46,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $74,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
