Job Title: Digital Accessibility Business Analyst
Duration: 6 Months (Tentative)
Location: Boston, MA (Onsite)
A highly collaborative and results-driven Digital Accessibility Business Analyst is needed to support ongoing digital accessibility initiatives. This role will work closely with the IT Accessibility Officer to identify accessibility issues, document requirements, and improve compliance with accessibility policies and standards. The successful candidate will help track accessibility deliverables, support content review processes, and work with internal partners to align business and technical accessibility needs. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in promoting digital inclusion across a large, mission-driven organization.
Evaluate digital products for compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and usability standards.
Produce key documentation such as business requirements, workflows, business rules, process models (using Visio), and training materials related to accessibility.
Recommend refinements to business processes and procedures related to accessibility compliance.
Provide Tier II support for accessibility-related defect tracking and issue resolution.
Assist content managers in reviewing digital collections and web content for accessibility needs.
Develop readiness assessments, dashboards, and metrics reporting.
Build business model knowledge and productive working relationships with stakeholders.
Document business and accessibility requirements, providing compliance guidance throughout.
Review system change requests to ensure completeness from an accessibility perspective.
Collaborate with development, UX, content, and QA teams throughout the SDLC to ensure accessibility is addressed.
Partner with the IT Accessibility Officer on ad hoc projects as needed.
Familiarity with assistive technologies, including screen readers, speech-to-text tools, magnification software, and keyboard/mouse emulators.
1–3 years of experience in digital accessibility testing and development using both manual and automated tools.
Understanding of Section 508, WCAG, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility requirements.
2–3 years of business analysis or project management experience, preferably in a technical or IT environment.
Strong background in application development life cycle, including gathering requirements, test case creation, and workflow design.
Experience with CMS platforms (especially Drupal) and accessibility tools such as SiteImprove and Editoria11y is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (data analysis) and Visio (process modeling).
Skilled in conducting stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather requirements.
Excellent documentation and communication skills, especially for translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a project team, offering business analysis and systems support.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on recommending actionable solutions.
