Position Summary
The Financial/Data Analyst will be responsible for maintaining data integrity and performing various analysis and reporting functions related to Berkshire’s bridge loan portfolio. Requires ongoing communication and collaboration with the company’s Debt Investments team members, Servicing partner and asset management software provider, and compiling supporting analyses. This role will assist with the preparation of securitization, portfolio, and leadership reports pertaining to Berkshire Debt investments as well as special projects as directed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with data reconciliation and data record management at both the loan and securitization level, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve data inaccuracies
- Assist with administration of the company’s asset management/database software, including both data integration and reporting output functions, and provide training and troubleshooting for Debt Investments team members related to their usage of the system
- Master existing company technology and assist with identifying, evaluating and implementing new technology tools to enhance portfolio analysis and reporting
- Identify opportunities to create workflow and reporting efficiencies through technology and work with key stakeholders to implement changes and enhancements
- Assist team members with the development, analysis, and maintenance of portfolio reports, with a focus on ensuring data accuracy
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders on the Private Lending series portfolio
- Assist with weekly, monthly and quarterly asset management and portfolio reporting
- Maintain positive relationships with Berkshire Portfolio Management, Servicer business and data teams, JV Partner, technology provider teams
- Participate in portfolio review meetings
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Consistently demonstrate use of tact and discretion
Knowledge/Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred
- Experience in building complex business models using Excel or Excel based tools
- Advanced Excel skillset that includes experience building advanced nested functions, logic operator functions, and index/matching functions
- Basic/intermediate SQL query, data validation/interpretation, and database view/stored procedure experience is a plus
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Experience with data visualization software such as Power BI is a plus
- Ability to present thoughts, content and conclusions to senior management.
- Ability to produce excellent quality work that is thorough, accurate and complete
- Extremely detailed oriented
- Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Works independently and with others; has complete ownership of work and projects
- Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Intellectual curiosity with the ability to self-teach new skills and functions
Technical/Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office suite of products
- Advanced Excel skillset
- Experience with RealINSIGHT a plus
