Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Programmer – AVS Support to join our team in Sacramento, CA. This senior-level role requires deep expertise in public pension systems, data architecture, and enterprise-level solution development. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with a proven track record in designing and maintaining complex systems, particularly in governmental or retirement benefit environments such as CalPERS.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and enhance enterprise-level public pension systems and IT actuarial platforms.
Design, develop, and support robust, scalable solutions that align with business processes and enterprise architecture.
Lead data processing and reporting initiatives using Oracle, PL/SQL, and ETL best practices.
Implement and maintain stored procedures and high-volume data processing strategies.
Develop advanced reports and dashboards using Power BI.
Collaborate with stakeholders to support data analytics and storage strategies using Snowflake.
Serve as a subject matter expert on governmental retirement benefits, including compliance and system integration considerations.

Required Skills & Experience

15+ years of experience in electronic data processing systems analysis, design, and programming.
10+ years of project-based experience analyzing operational methods and developing programs to meet organizational objectives.
15+ years of experience as a Solution Architect, delivering enterprise-aligned solutions.
15+ years of experience working with public pension systems or governmental retirement benefits (e.g., CalPERS).
15+ years of experience with Oracle databases (11g and 19c), PL/SQL, and SQL.
15+ years of experience implementing stored procedures and handling large-scale ETL processes.
7+ years of experience supporting or developing IT actuarial systems.
Experience developing interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI.
Experience working with modern data platforms and Snowflake for analytics and storage.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
