We are partnering with a client to find a talented professional for their next Automation Engineer role, to join their team in the West Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

The Traveling Automation Engineer will provide programming and automated system setup, equipment start-up services, control system installation, and troubleshooting of material handling equipment and crane systems.

Responsibilities for an Automation Engineer:

· Ensuring smooth operation by implementing and programming new automated systems.

· Provide on-site start-up services for new equipment systems.

· Install and troubleshoot control systems and their components to ensure proper functioning.

· Work closely with the engineering team to address complex issues and facilitate continuous improvement of automation processes.

· Train technicians when needed

· Develop corrective actions in response to equipment malfunction or system abnormalities.

Requirements for an Automation Engineer:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field.

· 5 years of experience of electrical, automation on overhead cranes or material handling equipment.

· Proficient in PLC programming, VFDs, control systems, and automation software.

· Travel as required, including weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
