Cambio Consulting Group is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer with a strong background in major database architecture and data engineering supporting mission critical data services. This role requires a technically adept, self-motivated expert who understands the complexities of enterprise-scale database transformation projects; and comprehensive knowledge in standards, governance, and best practices across multi-departmental organizations.

This is on-site in Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of the following tasks:

Architecture and Strategy

Design enterprise database architectures and evaluate technology solutions.
Create data integration strategies and establish data quality standards.
Facilitate database-related technical discussions and architecture reviews.
Plan database consolidation, optimization, and technology migration initiatives.
Develop strategy and roadmap to operationalize data governance including metadata management, data lineage, stewardship, and quality framework.

Security and Compliance Leadership

Design database security frameworks and FISMA-compliant solutions.
Architect data privacy and protection strategies.
Support compliance efforts and audit preparation activities.

Technical Expertise

Provide technical guidance on database and integration solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Present technical recommendations to leadership.
Establish database standards, best practices, and governance processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of Federal Experience
8+ years hands-on progressive experience • in database architecture and data engineering roles with increasing responsibility.
Successfully led enterprise-scale database transformation projects, including technology evaluation, vendor selection, and implementation.
Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional technical discussions and deliver compelling business cases to senior leadership.
Established comprehensive technical standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across multi-departmental organizations.
Supported complex database migration and modernization initiatives, including legacy system upgrades and cloud transformations.
Designed and implemented enterprise data integration strategies spanning multiple business lines and data sources.
Expert in architecting scalable data systems including data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
Extensive experience with both on-premises and cloud-native database architectures across hybrid environments.
Architected comprehensive database security frameworks for highly regulated industries including healthcare, finance, and government sectors.
Knowledge of FISMA compliance requirements, including Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and continuous monitoring frameworks.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations with a proven track record of implementing compliant data governance programs.
Supported organizational security audits, remediation efforts, and established enterprise-wide data protection strategies with documented risk management processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, or related field.
Relevant Certifications related to Database Engineering: ex. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Database - Specialty, TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), CISSP, CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), FedRAMP, CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
