About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on AI & Automation Engineer to help us streamline operations and drive efficiency by leveraging AI technologies. This individual will be responsible for identifying manual processes across the business, designing AI-driven solutions, and deploying automations that improve scalability and reduce costs.

This is a high-impact role where you will work closely with leadership, operations, and technology partners to bring practical AI applications into our day-to-day workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Audit current workflows to identify opportunities for automation (recruitment, compliance, payroll, credentialing, customer communications, etc.)
Build, train, and deploy AI applications (e.g., chatbots, document processing, scheduling, analytics dashboards).
Develop and manage API integrations with third-party platforms (ATS, CRM, MSP portals, payroll, etc.).
Implement and maintain automation tools (Zapier, n8n, Cursor, Make, RPA frameworks, or custom Python scripts).
Stay current on emerging AI tools and frameworks (LLMs, agentic AI, workflow orchestration, prompt engineering).
Monitor performance and ROI of AI systems, iterating as needed.
Educate and support internal teams on adoption of AI-driven solutions.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in AI/ML engineering, automation, or related software development.
Strong programming skills plus familiarity with APIs and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Zapier, n8n, UiPath, Power Automate, Make, Airflow).
Knowledge of LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and experience fine-tuning or building workflows with them.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to translate business processes into technical solutions.
Bonus: prior experience in healthcare, staffing, or HR tech.

Compensation Recommendation

This role sits between software engineering and applied AI/automation consulting. Benchmarks vary depending on experience level, location, and whether you’re hiring someone mid-level vs senior/lead. Compensation will be paid on a project basis.
