Job Summary

Position is responsible for the collection, preparation and analysis of healthcare data sets that informs Program Operations, its decision-making, strategic planning, and operational structure. Role is critical to improving patient care, enhancing organizational effectiveness and supporting decision-making through data-driven insights, including customer targeting, disease vulnerability, and behavioral patterns related to fraud. Position is essential to transforming health data into actionable insights, supporting better care and mission fulfillment.

Job Purpose

Position transforms large and complex data sets from the organizational area’s programming into actionable insights that supports Program Operations’ and the organization’s mission, improving patient care, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing operational and programmatic effectiveness.

Job Factors

Minimum Education Level Required: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, health informatics, health sciences, public health or a related field.

Minimum Experience Level Required: Minimum three years of progressive professional experience in data analytics, healthcare data or a related analytical role in a healthcare setting; public health or non-profit organization preferred. Advanced training and/or certifications in related technical tools, public health systems or methodologies preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to process large data sets and perform complex analyses without assistance.
Demonstrated proficiency in developing predictive models and performing statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis software, database management (SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, SAS, SPSS.) Coding proficiency in analytical languages (e.g. Python or R) required.
Previous experience in infectious disease and/or harm reduction prevention or education preferred. Must be able to obtain HIV 500/501 certification upon hire.
Experience working with geographic information systems or locationbased data analysis highly preferred.
Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and analytical skills.
Familiarity with public health data sets required, specifically the Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control; managing public health data platforms highly preferred.
Experience working with or knowledge of harm reduction data, including syringe services programs, overdose prevention efforts or similar initiatives highly preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and adapt messaging for the appropriate audience.
Ability to function in a complex team environment, collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet healthcare needs.
Selfdirected and selfmotivated, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands efficiently and simultaneously.
Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills for participating in project team
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, meeting hard deadlines.
Exercises critical thinking and attention to detail to guarantee data integrity and actionable insights.

Frequently fast-paced work with unscheduled interruptions.

Work may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet patient care demands.

Some public contact requiring business-appropriate apparel and/or occasional use of personal protective equipment.
