About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer with deep expertise in bare-metal C programming and hands-on experience developing firmware for custom hardware platforms. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building products from the ground up, working directly with hardware teams, and taking full ownership of the embedded software lifecycle — from requirements through production release.

Key Responsibilities

Bare-Metal Firmware Development: Architect, develop, and optimize embedded software in C for microcontrollers without an RTOS.
Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Drive development from concept to production, including requirements definition, design, coding, integration, testing, and release.
Hardware Collaboration: Work with electrical and PCB engineers to define system interfaces, validate hardware behavior, and debug integration issues.
Hardware Bring-Up & Validation: Perform board bring-up, create test plans, and verify system functionality using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers.
New Product Development: Build reliable, scalable firmware foundations for brand-new product lines and custom hardware designs.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and best practices for code quality and maintainability.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of embedded software development using C on bare-metal microcontrollers (no operating system).
Demonstrated experience taking products from concept through production release.
Strong understanding of embedded architectures, interrupts, timing constraints, and real-time design.
Hands-on debugging experience with JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators.
Proficiency with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB.
Solid understanding of hardware/software integration and microcontroller fundamentals.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (project requirements).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with STM32 or similar ARM-based microcontrollers.
Familiarity with HALs, board support packages, and custom bootloaders.
Experience with Git or other version control systems.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
