Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Data Strategist to help drive decision-making and uncover growth opportunities across our sales channels, especially Amazon and Shopify. In this role, you'll use data to evaluate product performance, uncover consumer trends, optimize sales strategies, and provide critical insights to guide product innovation and channel strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze product trends to identify potential innovation opportunities and recommend data-driven next steps.
- Design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests across HydroJug’s website and Amazon listings to determine optimal strategies and implement winning solutions.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses comparing product performance on Amazon vs. Shopify to uncover consumer behavior insights.
- Extract and translate insights from Amazon’s Product Opportunity Explorer into actionable product and merchandising strategies.
- Create and maintain detailed SKU-level sales forecasts across all channels (Amazon, Shopify, wholesale, etc.).
- Monitor and interpret Amazon and Google search term trends to inform content, product development, and marketing strategies.
- Evaluate current revenue distribution across all sales channels and identify areas where HydroJug is under-indexed, recommending opportunities for growth and diversification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst or e-commerce analytics role.
- Strong experience with Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Experience with Amazon Seller Central, Amazon analytics tools, and e-commerce platforms like Shopify.
- Ability to design and analyze A/B tests and interpret statistical significance.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills—able to present data insights clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Bonus Points
- Experience in consumer product goods (CPG), direct-to-consumer (DTC), or health/wellness industries.
- Familiarity with forecasting models and tools (e.g., Python, R, Prophet, etc.).
- Previous experience in product or merchandising analytics.
