Frontend Leaning Full Stack Engineer | Onsite New York | US Citizenship Required
Berkley Hunt is seeking a highly skilled Frontend Engineer on behalf of one of our startup clients in New York. This is a high-velocity, product-focused environment where you’ll own critical systems from design to scale, work closely with manufacturers to solve real-world problems, and operate with full autonomy in a lean and ambitious core team. Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in modern frontend development, thrive in hands-on problem-solving, and can execute across the stack when needed.
Role Responsibilities:
- Own critical systems—design, build, and scale them from the ground up.
- Work directly with manufacturers to ensure tools address real-world needs.
- Operate in high-agency mode—if it needs doing, you do it.
Requirements:
- Languages and Technologies: React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Redux, TailwindCSS.
- Expert-level proficiency in modern frontend architecture, component-based development, and reusable design patterns.
- Experience designing and implementing complex, highly interactive interfaces.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles with the ability to deliver clean, intuitive, and responsive designs.
- Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility best practices, and Three.js or similar 3D web visualization frameworks.
Nice to Have:
- Backend skills with Python or Node.js, including API design (REST, gRPC) and database work (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
- Experience with SSR/SSG frameworks like Next.js.
- Exposure to manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial software.
- Familiarity with UI/UX collaboration tools like Figma.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and background task frameworks (Celery, Kafka, AWS SQS).
- Knowledge of RBAC and authentication (OAuth, Cognito, JWT).
- Proficiency in Go, Python, and C++ for full-stack or backend contributions.
